Darren’s Takeaway: Words are one of the most powerful things we have. They can build up so much, they can edify, and pull someone out of a pit. But they can also tear down and destroy. Much carefulness needs to happen before the words exit our lips. But it isn’t just in the speaker that carefulness needs to be heeded. As a listener, just because I am not the one speaking it, I am still participating in it if I am willingly receiving it. If I look around and I don’t see the person of topic as part of the conversation, More times than not, the conversation will have no value to the person not present, but also no value to me. So carefulness not only needs to be applied with what you put out there in conversation, but it also needs to be applied to what you take in. Sometimes, just not being a willing participant, will stop gossip in its tracks.
Have a wonderful weekend!
